  The house is in a great location, short walking distance to beaches and Bob's shop. Point Lookout is also walkable.
  The house is well equipped and very comfortable. Having a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a separate shower room downstairs is great.
  Great balconies on two levels.
  It may not suit a family with small children or those with mobility issues as there are open staircases with three floors to navigate.
  The house does need a deep clean and some maintenance which I will share with Ray White.

  I have stayed at Quarterdeck on North Stradbroke Island with my family for many years and hope this annual vacation venue can continue. The three storeys of living are perfect for a large family - ample space and beds upstairs, kitchen and large living area on the second storey and a Balinese
  type room set up downstairs. Verandahs surround the top two storeys for fantastic views of Deadman’s beach and the natural island surrounds with the ever present humpback migrating south displaying water spouts and breaching usually with a calf. Quarterdeck is central to some of the best beaches on Straddie for surfing, swimming, fishing, sun baking or strolling.

  This is our fourth stay at Quarterdeck. We keep coming back here because it is a great place to stay for a Straddie vacation . Close to both Deadman’s and Cylinder beaches . The townhouse is well stocked with everything you need and the furniture and decor are great. Ray White at Point Lookout are always good to deal with . We’ll be back again soon !

  Ray White were fantastic in assisting us to choose a place after the one we used last year was not available.
  The house is light and airy, and well equipped in the kitchen and laundry. The beds were comfortable as were the dining chairs and balcony chairs.
  Quarterdeck has lovely open views of the ocean especially from the top level. It would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues, or very young children, due to the open stairs and three flights to reach the bedrooms.
  The furniture, cookware and tableware were all really tasteful and of good quality.
  It was great having two bathrooms and two toilets.
  The house is a shortish walk to Cylinder and Deadman's Beaches. Bob's shop is not far away for groceries.
  You need to bring your own supply of toilet paper, shower gel/soap, shampoo, handwash, dishwashing liquid (dishwasher tablets were well supplied), wettex/chux for wiping down the kitchen benches, hand towels for kitchen and laundry, foil, clingwrap, kitchen paper, laundry powder, and of course groceries. Two tea towels were supplied.
  You will also need a good supply of insect spray and repellant, as most of the windows do not have flyscreens.
  It was very hot upstairs when the windows were closed as there is no air conditioning. The only way to cool it down at night was to open the windows and turn the ceiling fans on. An hour before bedtime, we closed it all off and sprayed the rooms and closed the doors to kill off the mozzies which were numerous. Once we were aware, this routine was manageable.
  We would be very happy to stay here again.

  The location was really amazing, very close to Deadman's beach and the property was quite spacious with good sized bedrooms. I appreciated that the bedrooms had fans and that the kitchen was well equiped. The property was superficially clean, but could really do with a good deep thorough clean and the throw cushions and grey couch in the living space were not used as some were mouldy and seemed a bit grotty. That being said, we would stay again.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Quarterdeck, and are hoping to return. The townhouse was spacious and well-equipped with everything we needed. The location was quiet, and in easy walking distance of Deadman's and Cylinder Beaches, and the local Foodworks (Bob's Shop). The views were lovely - we could watch the whales breaching, and hear the ocean crashing on the headland in the evening (soothing, not intrusive!). A couple of maintenance matters were very promptly attended to by Ray White. We would happily recommend this property to others.

  Three of us stayed in this townhouse for four nights midweek and we were very happy with our choice.
  The location of this property was perfect for us, walk from home for a surf, beach walk or dinner at the pub, ticked the boxes.

  This was our second stay at Quarterdeck: the location is excellent for easy walks to Cylinder and Deadman's Beaches and Bob's Shop. It was a hot week so the fans got a good workout. As others have indicated, the double bed in the second bedroom is not up to expectations for a rental at this price. Also, the oven was not working and was replaced while we were there. If any of your party has mobility issues, then this is not the house for you - the stairs do not have railings for the first flight and the garage is very tight. Love the location!

  We have stayed here a couple of times before and have enjoyed it. On this occasion the place seemed a little tired. The place could have been dusted a little better, particularly under the bed. The small bedroom had a broker blind. Worst - was the non-functioning oven. Best of all was the forest kingfisher which visited every day and sat on the powerlines.

  Great location near Deadmans and Cylinders. Very nice layout on 3 levels including spacious kitchen, dining, and living room and 2 outside decks. Very nice view from top master bedroom.
  
  Cons:
  1) first floor shower does not turn off and the flow of water will be audible throughout the entire house. This will be a major disturbance for your stay unless you bring long-handled wrench to tighten
  2) guest bedroom is right next to outside streetlight and does not have a window/door curtain - it is very bright and you will not sleep well here unless you bring a sleep mask
  3) guest bedroom bed is on wheels - honestly, why would you do this to your guests? Bed easily rolls away from the wall. Two coasters are provided but they are two small for the wheels and easily fall out (with loud bang)
  4) Oven is almost impossible to get up to and stay at temperature. Pre-heated for over an hour and could just barely get it to 150C

  From the first interaction to the last goodbye on the ferry we had an amazing time. Access to property was kept simple and when we went to pop the keys back in the letterbox, instead we were greeted by a friendly face who took them for us while he was sweeping the footpath - all with a big smile. The views were superb and we could hear the whales singing all sight which was a first in the 30 years we've been going there! Wildlife was everywhere as usual. The place had all the required amenities including wifi which is a must if it's pouring at any stage. The only criticism is that one of the big lounges is unusable but with only 2 of us for most of the trip we made do. Will certainly be back!

  I always find Quarterdeck an excellent unit to holiday. The inside of the property has well maintained facilities for a family’s needs with views of the ocean, the dolphins and migrating humpbacks from the outside two upper level verandahs. There are many scenic walks including the beach for young and old to enjoy along with local coffee shops, the hotel and convenience store on the eastern side of the island.

  I love Straddie and I love Quaterdeck and have stayed there several times. The property is well lashed out and well situated, beaches, shops, cafes, gorge walk all within easy walking distance. However, as I have already reported every time I stay there, the curtains don’t close across the bedroom windows which look out onto the road, there are lots of cockroaches, in the second bedroom, the bed is unsafe and slides. Also they could do with new crockery, glasses etc. There is plenty of kitchen equipment but all is dated and nothing matches. Not enough glasses. Lots of lightbulbs and lamps didn’t work. We had to move lamps from one room to another. It’s a great place and it has been tidied up a bit but it should really be a lot better presented for the money. I report these things every time I stay and nothing changes. Such a shame because it is a wonderful and well situated house. All that said, I would still probably stay there again because I absolutely love the place but it is getting a little of of my price range.

  A week in this lovely location was delightful. The house was in a perfect location, with the headland beaches a short walk away.   Quarterdeck is in a fabulous location at easy walking distance from all beaches.
  It has lovely views from the top deck over Deadmans beach. The house is generally well equipped (could use a few more wine glasses)
  Standard of cleaning and linen maintenance however is not adequate. Some mattresses without protectors, no pillow protectors and stained/ dirty quilt covers. Curtains missing and blinds broken. Lots of dust around and below beds. Couch stained. These things detract from a fabulous property.

  The location was great, but unfortunately the the townhouse wasn't good. Starting outside, the garage advertised in the listing was not accessible even in our small car. You couldn't swing into the garage due to the side fence leaving no room to manoeuvre in or out. It also had an old lounge and some other household items in it.
  Inside the house. There were windows in the upstairs bathroom which couldn't be closed.
  Winder were rusted on other windows on the first and top floor and wouldn't wind all the way in or wind out for more than 1 cm. We had a wet weekend and had keep watch on the windows to make sure the rain wasn't getting in and the wind whistled through the window gaps all night. The bathroom upstairs also constantly leaked water through the screen, even after it was wiped up - which may also account for the water stains on the loungeroom ceiling downstairs and appeared to have a visible hole in the ceiling plaster with rust around it. The bathroom top towel rack also fell off and we had to screw it back in, but decided not to use it as it was wobbly. The upstairs toilet seat also looked like it may have been melted on the front rim (??), but in dire need of replacing. There were doors on the first and top floor with no screens which was a problem keeping wildlife out, particularly insects, and mozzies were a problem in the damp weather. There was also a wire which had broken on the stair railing at the very top level and been wound into the wire below it leaving a large gap which a child could fall through. Finally, and I know this may be a personal thing, but the floors were gritty under our feet from when we first walked in, particularly the timber floors in the loungeroom on the first floor. And to round it off, please a couple of new beds, they were so hard you could feel the springs.
  We would rent through Ray White Stradbroke again, the process for booking and check in and check out was seamless. Just not this house.
