Relax and enjoy this private, low-set home whilst being surrounded by native birds, kangaroos at your back door and the soothing sounds of the ocean. Quality furniture and appliances throughout - you won't want to leave!

Backing onto bushland and overlooking the level yard and garden, enjoy sitting on the north-east facing covered deck soaking up the peace and quiet and wildlife. There’s a fully fenced yard for your dogs which is also nice and secure for the young ones. Just a few hundred metres to the fabulous Home Beach, Cylinder Beach, or a few minutes’ drive to Main Beach where you can fish and drive the beach (with a 4x4 wheel drive). Stroll down the road and enjoy a sundowner at the Straddie Pub, or a coffee and some lunch at one of the cafes.

    wonderful holiday home for a family travelling with a pet. Very comfortable furnishings, modern bathrooms and kitchen and super tidy. Kitchen facilities were particularly good! great location walkable to Home Beach, the pub and bowlo.

    Not bad start with a gift card for the whale tail gelato. Did find dog hair on all the beds. I know its dog friendly but I dont want to sleep in it. Could do with a more rigorous clean between guests. Outdoor shower was great. Indoor bathroom fan needs a good clean. I can only imagine the stuff it makes you breathe in. Kitchen is modern and filled out well. Generally a good place to return to after a good day out but room for improvement. Google maps will take you to the wrong place tho so good luck finding the house.

    Was a fantastic house, great location with direct 4wd access to the beach. Was clean and plenty of space for our two dogs. Loss of a star om amenities, there is no WiFi and phone reception is very hit and miss.

    This was my second stay at this property - I returned because last year was absolutely fantastic. With new owners, I appreciated the small but helpful upgrades. Unfortunately, two upgrades were not carried out professionally enough resulting in some disappointing outcomes. The newly installed towel rail fell out of the wall - it was up high which resulted in a knock on the head. And, on the final night of our stay we were woken at 2.30am by a frightful smash - my daughter and I woke petrified that someone had broken in. Turns out the bathroom mirror was 'taped' to the wall unbeknownst to us and slid off the wall, hitting the basin and then the floor. I had reported it in person over the phone but no follow up, no apologies which is a bit disappointing. I do think property owners have a responsibility to ensure all fixtures are put in place by qualified trades people regardless of how minor they might be. On this occasion, it is very fortunate that no other damage was done to persons or personal property.

    It was clean. Flyscreens, windows surfaces floors all clean. A safe place for children with the fenced back yard. Close to main beach via the 4 wheel drive track. Close to cylinder for swimming. Peaceful.

    Found Melaleuca 3 when searching for a pet friendly option. Booked for an absolutely wonderful week. A beautiful, peaceful setting, with many different bird calls and bird watching opportunities all day, with kangaroos also visiting the yard. Easy walk to Home Beach for a dog friendly off leash adventure. We brought our own enclosure to safely fence off the side yard. I had no complaints about the accommodation and would definitely book again, but some things to consider include: the shower/bath access may not be suitable for older visitors or those with disabilities; no internet included, and Optus coverage is generally SOS to 1 bar of 3G; washer, but no dryer.
