Billa Bush Cottage

Billa Bush Cottage is a newly renovated (Nov 2018) Island home that has kept it's beautiful charm and original qualities but been pulled into the modern world with a beautiful modern 'wet room' bathroom and lovely kitchen.

The home features polished timber floors throughout and a large open plan kitchen with a microwave, gas stove and Nespresso Coffee Machine (bring your own pods). The deck with gas BBQ and dining area overlook the native bushland. There is also a Bluetooth Mini Speaker for listening to your favourite tunes.

There are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other bedroom with two single beds. Both are air conditioned although once the screened windows are open, the breezes start to flow through the home.

Billa Street is well known for it's proximity to the heart of Point Lookout and is walking distance to all shops and beaches.

Please note that this is a "no screen" cottage but is a very easy stroll to the Straddie Pub to watch any special events on their big screen. There is however a high speed Starlink connection available for all your own screens.

  Unfortunately, the maintenance and cleanliness of the property was poor. Upon arrival we were greeted with a dirty deck and dust, grime and dog hair on the outdoor furniture. Inside was much the same; marks on the doona covers, dirty plates, cutlery, pots and pans, an empty gas bottle for the BBQ, broken oven and the list goes on. The property had ants crawling from the verandah ceilings to the countertops inside.
  
  Overall, the property is in a great location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Point Lookout. Just a short walk to the beach and pub. Spacious enough for a few people, great outdoor area, it just lacked upkeep. Despite all of this, we did have a good stay at the Billa Bush Cottage. I would recommend the property owners to either hire a new cleaner or inspect it before guests arrive.

  This is a beautiful accommodation and would be lovely in the warm weather. However in the middle of June when we were there it was very cold and unpleasant. The sun does not get down in the ravine where it is situated at all. It is almost colder in the house than outside. Not enough blankets to be warm at night.

  Gorgeous little beach cottage in a very quiet peaceful location backing onto the bush. I was even more impressed with the property in person vs the photos.
  A short walk to cylinder beach and the local pub for a drink (and they have a bottle shop too).
  Lots of basic items provided like salt and pepper.
  Something to consider if taking little kids is that the curtains are completely sheer.
