A delightful, comfortable, split-level home with a good-sized native garden, outside deck area. It is in a fabulous position with a bus stop (Snapper and Bimba St) right outside the premises. Its central position means there is no need to bring a car and you will be guaranteed exercise! The Island now boasts 50c bus fares making this an ideal property to stay on if going car-less. The bus picks you up at the ferry terminal.
It is 10 minutes walking distance to the spectacular Point Lookout Gorge Walk , Bobs Grocery Store, shops, cafes, the Stradbroke Beach Hotel and most importantly the Gelati shop! Cylinder Beach (patrolled) and Deadman’s and Frenchman’s (unpatrolled) beaches are also within 10 minutes.

The house is set back from the main road and in a lovely quiet area. There is covered onsite parking for one car.

Entry level has a King bedroom with two-way bathroom and a laundry which has a top load washing machine and clothes dryer.

On the next level is the kitchen, living and entertaining area opening onto the covered deck with BBQ and courtyard.

The top floor has 2 bedrooms, one queen sized bedroom and then two king singles in the other. It also has a second bathroom and a second lounge with two double sized pull-out futon beds.



All bookings include a full linen pack with beds made on arrival for your convenience.

This is a very cosy, homey place in one of the best, most convenient locations on the Island.

    We rented this property for a family getaway and it was great. It helped to have to a separate living area upstairs. The location was excellent, easy walk up the hill to the cafes. The lounge has seen better days but the rest place was great.

    The location and setup of this accommodation is perfect. Access to the beach, local foodstore, cafe and restaurant, gives you the low key getaway you desire.
    We would definitely stay again, although it does get quite warm on the top level, so perhaps additional cooling needs to be looked at in the warmer months. None the less, we had a great time.

    Nice 3 bedroom 3 story apartment. Living area in middle level was good. Close to the beach but no water views. Kitchen was well stocked & had everything we needed. Some maintenence is required on screen door, window openers and aircon.

    It was a good but not great stay for 2 families. Kitchen was well equipped.
    No Wi-Fi despite being mentioned in Property Description.
    Carport for only 1 car.
    Bedding and bathrooms were old and average clean. No bath soap or shampoo provided.
    Backyard was very messy not maintained.
    Master bedroom on L1 but other bedrooms on L3, too far.
    Location accessible to Cafes restaurants beaches shops within 10min walk.
    Over priced.

    Good convenient location, amenities as described, however the details let it down. Ground floor toilet leaking (clean?) water on arrival, pooling on the bathroom floor... You'd get your feet wet using it, or even using the adjacent sink. When RW agent was notified their handyman came 1 day later, with less than good communication (still don't know if they actually came, didn't see them) but the leak was slower/water pool lesser... guessing they tightened the tap/seal instead of replacing?
    Gas bottle for the BBQ almost empty on arrival, and the deck was un-useable when raining as the gaffer tape over the rusted out downpipe failed under heavy rain resulting in a waterfall on the deck.
    Extra hand soap located under basins in bathrooms, but no extra toilet rolls, and less than full rolls the TP holder to begin with, if hadn't brought extra ourselves would have been awkward!
    NB: Code for lockbox only issued exactly 24hrs prior at 9am, not 48hrs, don't stress like we did!

    Location was great, Nth Stradbroke exceptional for beach views, walking and peaceful relaxation. Accomodation was lacking Attention for detail in cleaning and lighting. Empty stubbie on coffee table on arrival, wiped down coffee table to find my cloth black. Had to clean fridge/freezer, stove, before using. Insufficient pots to cook with as damaged non stick ones not suitable to use. Black mould and dust on bedside table lamps. Nail clippings on bedroom floor. Ensuite toilet not clean, and drawer handles very rusty. Lighting on stairs insufficient, my husband missed step and fell, lucky to not have serious injury. Blinds do not keep out morning light, and some broken. The rear patio and garden view was enjoyable. No wifi, and no smart tv.

    Great location. Good layout in the house, liked the 3 levels as it provides different options of use. All the stuff needed for the stay was there.
    One negative thing was when windy at night it was noisy in the bedrooms upstairs as some overhanging tree branches were rubbing across the roof. And for peace of mind would be nice to have an extra lock on the front door. Overall would definitely would stay here again.

    The rental is in a great location and the communication was great! the home was a little bit dusty and one of the guests was asthmatic. Unfortunately the weekend that we went, the weather was terrible and because it was flooding in Brisbane we had to leave early. Apart from this we had a great visit and will definitely go to straddie again.

    Tchoomooroo is a beautifully thought out holiday property with plenty of space for 6 adults. The kitchen is well appointed and the beds are comfortable. Location wise, it’s excellent for beaches and the shops. A daily walk to the shop for ice cream is easily done. Proximity to other houses around was our only negative. The holiday home next door was full of very rowdy people using foul language and partying late every night. Our kitchen and deck were literally 10m from their deck so we (and they) could hear every word. One of the bedrooms is also directly above the kitchen, and even with windows closed tight, the noise prevented a good nights sleep for our children. If you want quiet and privacy this potentially isn’t the rental for you.

    Firstly, the site photos are misleading leaving one to believe the unit has water views when in fact, it does not.

    Secondly, the unit was not as clean as it should be. Windows, rear deck and bbq all dirty. Crockery, glassware and utensils substandard cleanliness. Washing machine did not work; clogged lint filter. Clothes dryer dirty lint filter. Front and rear yard maintenance very poor.

    And to top it off, fire alarms went off at 1am of our last night for no apparent reason!

    Great property, spacious but poorly maintained.

    We loved Straddie so much, we decided to stay a few more days and went to much better accommodation nearby.

    The marine life here (Point Lookout) at this time of year is amazing - whales, dolphins, turtles, sharks and even a seal!
