Eyrie is a relaxed, comfortable family home designed for easy coastal living. Wraparound balconies capture breezes and leafy views and features an outdoor dining table—perfect for alfresco meals. If you’re lucky, you might even spot whales and other marine life right from the balcony. The fenced backyard and gated balcony makes this location the ideal spot for families.

Inside, the main bedroom includes its own ensuite, while the other two bedrooms are serviced by a spacious main bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower. Throughout the home, ceiling fans and polished timber floors create a bright, breezy beach-house feel.

  The location is great and the views are stunning. Sadly the fences are in some disarray and were not dog secure. There are also some problems with the stove (it appears the thermostat may be faulty, the hotplates were either on high, (irrespective of where you placed the dial) or off (this did make cooking a little challenging). We did attempt to use the bar-b-que one night but it was in desperate need of a clean so we didn't use it at all during our stay. Having said all that, we loved the view from the back deck and, we had a great holiday. I'm just letting you know about the small concerns in case you wanted to take any action on them. They didn't spoil our holiday at all (the local restaurants and eating places just saw more of us).

  The property was in a perfect location walking distance to the beach. Lovely ocean view from the deck with lots of comfortable seating. The house was comfortable and the showers were great. Unfortunately the wooden floors were dirty and needed a good wash before we could walk on them. There was also an infestation of large cockroaches in the kitchen. Besides that the property had everything we needed to be comfortable with fast nbn. There were lots of beach accessories to use as well. Despite the drawbacks we would definitely consider staying at this place again.

  Good team at Ray White - helpful and pleasant. Eyrie is in a very good location, close to beach, shops, and local scenery highlights. However the residence itself is in need of maintenance TLC, bedlamps damaged in main bedroom, curtain rods require attention, insect screens throughout the house are old and very ill fitting, toilet cistern main bedroom needs attention, kitchen cupboards were dirty and should be replaced, lounge, dining, and kitchen floors were dirty, the laundry is filthy. However we enjoyed our stay, who wouldn't at Stradbroke.

  Great house in a great location. We had great ocean views to watch the whales. The house was clean and well stocked. The walk to the dog beach is great exercise (the hill coming back is a doozy). The verandah is gated but Unfortunately there is no fenced yard as stated in the listing so that’s a bit of a problem as we had to keep taking the dogs out when they needed to go to the toilet - no big deal during the day but freezing at 3am!
  The staff at Ray White were efficient and easy to deal with. I would recommend this house.

  Enjoyed the spectacular ocean views from a wide deck in a treetop setting. Did not enjoy the unclean interior.
  
  Although this is an affordable dog-friendly property, you still expect a basic level of cleanliness.
  
  The agents were very responsive in organising a spot clean to remove some of the mould.
  
  However, the house still needs a longer, really intense deep clean and cockroach treatment before I would recommend it to anyone else.
  
  We ended up cleaning the deep layers of dust underneath the bed ourselves, scrubbed the main bedroom doors and furniture in this room.

  Toilets smell of urine, not sure when floors were last mopped.
  Under couches obviously hadn’t been cleaned. Vacuum cleaner is not functioning. Hot plates on stove were full on, couldn’t lower heat and back right hot plate not working.

  This has the making of being a spectacular holiday location. If only the owners of the property would spend a few dollars maintaining, cleaning and upgrading it. almost everything about this property is in disrepair. Really glad we took our own gas cookers as the stove can't regulate heat and the BBQ was just gross. You are also sharing the property with cockroaches and spiders. The view is amazing and Point Lookout is beautiful.

  The house is located in a convenient spot with perfect ocean views (whales included). The property was well stocked with sufficient plates and crockery, furniture both indoor and outdoor and loads of books and games available. The general cleanliness was of a low standard. There were cobwebs and spiders in the bedrooms, rubbish still in the bins, dishwasher full and the vacuum was filled with dirty and hair.

  Eyrie is in a great position with wonderful view of the ocean and the passing Humpback Whales from the large back deck. (Take binoculars though) Grandson with his new binocs said "I can see him waving his arms!!" The place is quite old but functional with lots of kitchen utensils and staples for use. It could do with a handyman to fix a bunch of stuff that did not really impact our stay except when the lights went out during and after a heavy rainfall. Rear steps can be a bit slippery as and slip is too worn. Also the second and third bedroom were lacking usable storage and under the beds was needing a better clean and the twin third had no bedside lamps. The rest of the house was spotless. The Agent was very responsive to our complaints. It is close to everything and the younger ones walked to the beach and pub etc. We would be very happy to stay again with a group at this price.   Our family have taken a winter holiday at Straddie for many years and we have stayed at Eyrie for the last three. There are many styles of holiday rental to chose from and this one meets the needs of our family (including 2 primary school aged kids and a cat!) perfectly.
  
  Eyrie is affordable, well located, very comfortable and comes with a gorgeous ocean view from the sunny rear deck! The water pressure is notably fabulous - the best hot shower I've ever had. It was a little colder overnight this year (we do bring a heater) and there are plenty of warm blankets in the cupboard.
  
  The owners have upgraded some furniture recently and Eyrie is clean and well presented.

  My family had the most wonderful stay at Eyrie. It's in a great location at Point Lookout, close to everything you want or need. It is thoughtfully stocked with everything you'll need for a great holiday stay, and has the most gorgeous view looking north, out over the water, and gets a wonderful breeze most, if not all the time! They've really thought of everything - the house is stocked with pantry essentials to get you started, as well as loads of interesting books and games. There's also a hose downstairs to hose off after trips to the beach (it'd be nice if the little shower was working, but that was a tiny thing). Eyrie is the kind of place where you can fully relax and you never want to leave! We booked because we've stayed there before and it's pet friendly but unfortunately our little and old doggie passed away this year. It's still worth staying here though. We thoroughly recommend Eyrie and look forward to staying there again!

  Great location, easy walk to the beach. I booked this house for the deck and view and it 100% delivered on it. Whale spotting while having breakfast or lunch was great. The living room was comfortable with updated sofas not as pictured. The house is one of the more affordable options on the island so keeping that in mind, you get what you pay for. It desperately needs a spring clean and some updating. I’m guessing it’s been used as a holiday rental for many years and it shows. It’s dog friendly which is great but we found dog hair on the bedding which is not ideal. The curtains has a smell to them as well. The closets with extra pillows/blankets are musty and have mold on them. With a bit of attention it could be great.
  We spend little time in the house when over at Straddie so it worked for us but something to keep in mind. Would I book again, probably not, although the view is wonderful and the value is there.

  We had a lovely winter mini-escape at Eyrie. Excellent location - very quiet street with easy walking distance to beach. View from the deck to the ocean was the highlight - constant sightings of whales while reading and sipping coffee so wonderful.

  This house is in a perfect location, especially if you are bringing your dog. Stunning views from the large entertaining deck.
  You do need to take your dog downstairs to go to the toilet though, as the deck is the only gated option.
  Great size, with ceiling fans in each room, and beautiful breezes from the ocean. A little run down but perfect for what we needed.

  This is a basic family house with a nice deck with great views. It appear this house is most likely very popular and therefore heavily rented. It is in need of a good spring clean and some basic maintenance. All in all we did enjoy our stay but did spend some time upon initial arrival wiping out kitchen cupboards, bedroom and bathroom drawers, etc so that they were up to a decent cleanliness standard. There was a lot of cockroach faeces in drawers. If this was attended to properly (a good spring clean), then I would highly recommend the property.

  Eyrie is a good, basic beach house. It is comfortable and homely as opposed to being in the luxury bracket, but is clean and has everything you need. There were a few minor maintenance repairs needed, but nothing that inconvenienced us. Beds are comfortable,so are the couches for day time naps and the hammock on the deck.There are lovely views from the deck. The gated wrap around verandah is great for dogs or small children. It is walking distance to Main beach and the pub. The check in and out process was very straight forward. Overall, I could definitely recommend Eyrie for a relaxing Straddie holiday.
