Amaroo House

Amaroo House is the perfect holiday home for large families or two families traveling together. This spacious home is just a short distance from all Point Lookout beaches and offers a relaxing retreat with a large upper deck overlooking tranquil bushland.

The upper level features a master bedroom with a Queen bed and ensuite, two bedrooms with two singles each, a large kitchen, and a lounge/entertainment area. There are also two bathrooms, including one with a bathtub, perfect for families.

The lower level offers a second master bedroom with a Queen bed, an additional bedroom with two singles, and a lounge/entertainment area — ideal for giving everyone their own space.

This home includes five bedrooms, three bathrooms, two living areas, and an extra kitchenette. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, two fridges, and a Nespresso coffee machine (bring your own pods). Guests can enjoy two TVs and a DVD player for entertainment.

Please note the property is accessed via a steep driveway and is not screened, but it provides a peaceful, private escape just minutes from the beach.

  Great amount of room with two floors.
  
  Teenage space and lovely deck. Walking distance to shops and beach.
  
  Note: no heating. We came on a stormy winter weekend, and it was OK, we were glad there were extra blankets. The one addition the owners could make wpukd be 1 - 2 space heaters for these occasions.
  
  BBQ was not clean, but cleaning supplies were on site, so problem was solvable. There was only 1 wine glass hehe.

  The reviews for this place were quite old so I had hoped they had improved, but that's not the case. April 2025 - the house was dirty with layers of dust and dirty tissues under the main bed, cockroach infestation in the kitchen and mould in the kitchen. It was the worst accommodation we have stayed at.

  Great house, much bigger than we initially expected and so much room to hangout with family and mates. Really close to the main area of Point Lookout with so much to do. Wish we had stayed longer. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice getaway in nature that is still close to the action of stradbroke!

  This house should be advertised as a great house for schoolies! The furniture was so dirty I couldn’t bear to sit on it! Every tap leaks! No dishwasher! Washing machine didn’t work! BBQ - Weber q - only half of it works as it hasn’t ever been cleaned properly- it is sitting inside another broken down one!! When we arrived the flies were extremely bad as the fish that had been cleaned on the driveway were just hosed off into the garden! If this house had some TLC it would be great!

  Positives - Great house for family holiday as we managed to easily fit in two families of 5 people, with room to spare.

  Cobwebs filled most corners of the house. Downstairs bedrooms unusable as the stench of dampness to over powering. Not Covid safe dirty dishes in cupboard with food stuck to them.

  Dirt and dust in all corners of the house. Blinds mouldy, cobwebs and thick dust on windows. All furnishings are stained, broken tiles and vanity units falling apart.

  This property needs a good clean and stripping of all furnishings, especially the old rusty Locker. Filthy and poor state.
  
  Driveway is extremely steep and slippery, even in 4wd.

  House was very roomy, much larger than the pictures looked. Plenty of room for two families as each level has a bathroom, kitchen, dining and living areas. Very close to a food shop, and close drive to beaches. One downside is the driveway is extremely steep! We're talking "feeling like you're lying down while you drive up" steep. Only room for one car in the carport, but plenty of street parking
  Another downside is the property is very dated. No fly screens on any windows and I'm not sure what the cleaner's role is, as every corner and nook had dead bugs, spider webs and dirt in it. The house would be much more inviting if it was fixed up a little
